Hello, I’m Karen, welcome to Q Life! I am a state registered physiotherapist, with over 20 years experience working in many different specialisms in both the NHS and private practice.
I have specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy since 2005 but have also gained wide experience in community physiotherapy, paediatrics and hospice care. This means I have a good knowledge of most conditions that benefit from physiotherapy throughout our lifespan and can tailor treatment to your specific needs.
I pride myself on treating my patients with the same care and respect as I would my own family and always strive to treat the “whole person", not just the condition that you present with. I have a special interest in chronic pain, hydrotherapy and respiratory conditions, as well as a wealth of postgraduate training including manual therapy and acupuncture.
My experience working with children, especially those with special needs and my personal experience as a parent of a special needs child has led me to Special Yoga.
I am a trained Special Yoga Practitioner and have found this to be a brilliant way of improving the health, wellbeing and quality of life of both children and adults (including myself!) I also work as a volunteer for local charities supporting children and young people with special needs.
I am state registered with the Health and Care professions Council, and also registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, The Aquatic Therapy association of Chartered Physiotherapy and The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. I am fully DBS checked and insured.
When I am not working, I am likely to be spending time with my family, walking our 2 dogs, riding my bike, practising yoga or pottering in the garden.
From my professional training and personal experience, I have learnt that good quality of life comes when all of our needs are met: physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual. That is why all services I offer ensure that your specific, unique needs are at the heart of what we do!
